Some cookies are needed to make this site work. Anything optional is listed below and stays off until you turn it on. We do not use cookies for advertising, we do not track you across other websites, and we never sell your data.

People arrive at this work from everywhere. Lawyers and teachers, students and parents, researchers, film-makers, people who have lived through some of it and people who simply could not walk past it. Everyone is welcome.
Volunteering with CEASE means real time on real work: helping with our social media, conducting research, writing an article. No policy background needed.
We are a small team, so what we can take on depends on what is live and who has capacity. Sometimes that means starting straight away, sometimes it means holding your details until the right work comes up, and either way you will hear back from us.

If these are not your skills, do apply anyway and say what you'd like to do. A lot of the useful work volunteers have done was not on this list first.
Monitoring sites, coding what you find, building the dataset properly. Careful, repetitive, and the reason our numbers hold up under attack.
Turning research and campaign wins into posts people actually stop for. Writing captions, cutting clips, keeping a grid consistent.
Filming and editing interviews, covering events, building a library of warm, human images we are allowed to use.
Hosting, logistics, note-taking under the Chatham House Rule. Important work that decides whether a room goes well.
Explainers, opinion pieces and campaign blogs in plain words. Evidence nobody reads changes nothing.
Getting your MP to answer, pulling a coalition together where you live, turning up when a campaign needs bodies.
Four things, and none of them is a qualification.

An hour a week or a day a month. It does not need to be much, it needs to be real.
If you say you will do something, we plan around it. That is the whole basis of a small team.
Some of what you see is sensitive. It stays in the room, and we will always tell you when that applies.
We are a small team. Things move, plans change, and asking is always better than guessing.
Six questions. No CV unless you want to send one.
Thank you for offering it. Someone here will read this properly, and you will get a real answer either way.
Put “volunteer” in the subject line and tell us what you do. It reaches the same person.
You are not what was done to you.
You are welcome here, and you are never asked to tell your story to be useful. Say as much or as little as you want on the form. We are not a crisis service: if you need someone now, the helplines are on our contact page.
